Privacy Policy

Conversation content is temporaryMessages, photos, voice notes, documents, and short videos are automatically removed after the applicable conversation period.

No email, phone number, or real name required for an accountNoTrace does not use conversation content to build advertising profiles or sell personal information.

Only operational records remainLimited account, safety, relationship, notification, activity-count, and subscription records remain while needed to operate the service.

Who operates NoTrace

NoTrace is operated by NoTrace LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company (“NoTrace,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Privacy and data requests may be sent to admin@notrace.cloud.

Adults only

NoTrace is intended only for people at least 18 years old. During signup, a birthdate is used to perform an age check. NoTrace does not save that birthdate to the user profile. We record the time and policy version associated with the completed adult-eligibility and policy confirmation. If you believe a minor is using NoTrace, contact us.

Information kept while an account exists

Account and recovery: username, password hash, recovery question, one-way hashes of the recovery answer and 8-digit PIN, account status, creation time, login-security records, policy-acceptance time and version, and appearance settings.
Profile and relationships: selected or uploaded profile image, optional broad region, contacts, contact requests, blocks, invitation settings, conversation appearance preferences, online-status preference, and administrative safety restrictions.
Temporary conversations: message text, photos, voice notes, supported documents, short videos, reactions, delivery/read status, timestamps, and the participants needed to deliver and automatically delete conversations.
Notifications: device/browser push endpoint, cryptographic push keys, and limited browser/device information needed to deliver notifications. Notification text is designed not to reveal the sender or conversation content.
Activity counts: permanent numeric totals of messages sent and received are used to calculate a private activity rank. The ranking page shows each signed-in user only their own rank, not a public list of usernames.
Safety reports: reporter and reported usernames, selected reason, description, status, and time. Reports may remain after account deletion when reasonably necessary for safety, enforcement, fraud prevention, disputes, or law.
Subscriptions: plan, status, billing-period dates, and payment-provider customer and subscription identifiers. Website purchases are processed by Stripe. Stripe may require billing contact and payment information and makes limited billing information available to NoTrace as the merchant. NoTrace does not store full payment-card numbers.

How information is used

We use information to create and secure accounts, recover access, provide and automatically delete conversations, manage contacts and blocks, deliver notifications, calculate private activity rank, provide paid features, manage subscriptions, respond to reports, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and meet legal obligations.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by providers that help operate NoTrace, including website hosting, push delivery, and payment platforms. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate fraud or abuse, or defend legal rights.

Retention and deletion

Standard conversation content is scheduled for deletion after approximately one hour. When either participant has an eligible paid plan, conversation content may remain for up to 24 hours. A user can also clear a conversation sooner. Recipients can still preserve content through screenshots, downloads, recordings, or another device.

Account and operational records remain while an account is active. Users can permanently delete an account from Settings or at notrace.cloud/delete-account.php. Deletion removes the account, conversation content and media, profile, relationships, notification subscriptions, conversation preferences, and activity ranking record. An identifiable active website subscription is canceled first. We retain a one-way hash showing that a username was deleted and may retain safety reports or limited records when required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, disputes, or enforcement. Payment providers may retain transaction records under their policies and legal obligations.

Security and limitations

We use reasonable safeguards, including password hashing, access controls, private storage for documents and videos, and limited retention. No system is perfectly secure. NoTrace does not currently promise end-to-end encryption, anonymity, or deletion from every backup or recipient-controlled device. Do not send highly sensitive, illegal, or dangerous information.

Your choices

You may change profile and appearance settings, hide online status, block users, report safety concerns, disable notifications, manage or cancel a subscription, clear conversations, or delete the account. If account access is lost, visit Cancel a Paid Subscription to stop recurring billing without recovering the NoTrace account.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as features or legal requirements change. Material changes may require renewed acceptance. Contact admin@notrace.cloud.
